               Current Events

Grade level 11. Semester course with Speech being the other semester course. Required for graduation. No prerequisites. This class provides a study of current issues in government and world affairs.


American Government

Grade level 12. Full year course. Required for graduation. No prerequisites. This course is about government and politics in the United States. Students will study how each branch of government works and its historical basis. Students will learn their responsibilities as citizens of the U.S. Students will study the interaction between the national government and citizens, the economy, the state government and local government. Students will study the Constitution of the United States as a living document that is the basis for our democratic form of government.
